Redwood Adventure Camp is operated on WLT's property, an edgeholding to the Elkhorn Ridge Wilderness in California. WLT purchased the land so that the camp operations and trail and river access could be preserved rather than developed or poached by illegal pot farmers. WLT will transfer this property to the Bureau of Land Management.

Help Protect America's Wilderness

For Future Generations!

Investing in The Wilderness Land Trust Pays Big Returns
The Wilderness Land Trust works to remove the threat of development to America’s wilderness by buying private lands for the National Wilderness Preservation System, affording them the highest level of protection.

Since 1992, The Wilderness Land Trust has helped preserve more than 41,000 acres in 90 wilderness areas throughout the West. Every acquisition ensures that America’s treasured wilderness areas will remain unbroken and forever wild.

Our supporters play a critical role keeping America’s wilderness wild. If you enjoy hiking and backpacking in wilderness areas, or simply knowing that wild America will be there for future generations, we ask for your support.

The Sentinel Fund Campaign

There is a 'Sentinel Peak' in 11 states. These peaks keep watch over our wilderness.  So do we.  Help us continue to be the sentinel of our wilderness, Keeping Wilderness Wild. A generous supporter will match your gift, dollar for dollar, up  $100,000 each year!  Every acre we acquire, when woven into the fabric of the wilderness, has preserved 109 million acres of irreplaceable wilderness that surrounds it. Please Invest in Keeping Wilderness Wild.  Keep us on station, protecting the fabric of wilderness we have all worked so hard to create.

"The Wilderness Land Trust is on station, every day, to protect our National Wilderness Preservation System.  We don’t need to be big to do this.  We do not want to be grand.  But we have to be there.  Available - when private property, owned within lands where “man is just a visitor and shall not remain” go up for sale so that these holes in the fabric of our wilderness can be acquired and woven into it, not sold to yet another private landowner who will spend another generation developing private dreams within what we’ve spent more than two generations weaving into a public vision of wilderness."

Reid Haughey

President, The Wilderness Land Trust
