The Wilderness Land Trust is proud
to announce that Buck Parker has joined
the Trust’s board of directors.
Mr. Parker has been on the staff of
the non-profit environmental law group Earthjustice since
1980, where he served as litigation
coordinator, vice president, and, from
1997 to 2007, executive director. He
has also served on the boards of Ecojustice
Canada and the Asociación
Interamericana para la Defensa del Ambiente,
which he cofounded in 1996 to promote
cooperation and coordination among environmental
law groups in the Western Hemisphere. Prior
to his joining Earthjustice Buck practiced
law in Portland, Oregon, and devoted
many volunteer hours to wilderness protection
in Oregon, Alaska and the West.
Buck Parker
Mr. Parker is a strong proponent of
the Trust’s mission “The
development of private lands within
wilderness areas, and the construction
of roads to get to them, are significant
threats to lands that deserve the highest
protection citizens and Congress can
give them,” said Parker. “I’m
very pleased to be part of an organization
that solves this problem in a way that
is fair to everyone.”
