80 ACRES PROPOSED FOR ADDITION TO THE LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK

Protected land adjacent
to the Lassen Volcanic National Park

Thanks to the generous support of the Resources Legacy Fund Foundation, the Trust has protected 80 acres adjacent to the Lassen Volcanic National Park. This former inholding is adjacent to designated wilderness in the National Park and will be donated to the Park Service for incorporation into the wilderness area. Also known as Spencer Meadow, this property supports a lush wet meadow in otherwise wooded volcanic terrain. The acquisition of this parcel has prevented its sale for timbering and development and has eliminated a need for a cherry-stem road.
