962 ACRES IN THE BEAUTY MOUNTAIN WILDERNESS STUDY AREA PROTECTED

Protected Land within the Beauty Mountain WSA

The Trust has protected an additional 962-acre property on Beauty Mountain, thanks to the generous support of the Resources Legacy Fund Foundation.  This purchase was completed in partnership with the California Wildlife Conservation Commission, which acquired 3,244-acres of adjacent non-wilderness land. This second phase acquisition adds to the 1,360-acres of pristine Beauty Mountain terrain already acquired in Riverside County - and brings the total of land preserved to 5,566.  Together these investments create a large block of now conserved uninterrupted rich and diverse habitat formerly in the crosshairs of development coming down State Highway 79 from rapidly growing Temecula
