Board members Mark Trautwein and Linda McNulty at October
2005 meeting near Mazama, Washington.
The Wilderness Land Trust welcomes its newest
Board member, Linda McNulty, who was elected
to the Board of Directors in July 2005. She is Of Counsel
with the law firm of Lewis and Roca’s Real Estate and
Finance Group in Tucson, Arizona. She earned a law degree
from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of
Law and a BS in nursing from the University of Rochester.
Linda has a long history in conservation and wilderness activism,
much of it through the Sierra Club.
Doug Scott, Policy Director
for the Campaign for America’s Wilderness, was elected
Board Chair at the Trust’s April 2005 meeting in Aspen,
Colorado. Doug—who is based in Seattle—received
his forestry degree from the University of Michigan in 1966.
He formerly worked at The Wilderness Society, and for 17 years
for the Sierra Club, including as conservation director and
associate executive director. Doug was involved in enactment
of the Eastern Wilderness Areas Act (1975), The Endangered
American Wilderness Act (1978), the Frank Church-River of
No Return Wilderness (Idaho, 1980), The Alaska National Interest
Lands Conservation Act (1980), and the California Desert Protection
Act (California, 1994), among others. He is author of The
Enduring Wilderness: Protecting Our Natural Heritage through
the Wilderness Act, published in August 2004.
We thank our prior Chair, Andy Wiessner of the
Western Land Group, for three years of dedicated service.
