Reid Haughey and Chief of the Forest Service
Dale Bosworth
The Forest Service has honored The Wilderness
Land Trust with the Bob Marshall Award for Champion of Wilderness
Stewardship. The award is “in recognition of the Trust’s
accomplishments in protecting existing wilderness through
the purchase of private inholdings in California, Colorado,
Montana, New Mexico, and Washington.” Trust President
Reid Haughey and Vice President Bettina Ring traveled to Washington
on June 22 to receive the award from Chief of the Forest Service
Dale Bosworth at a breakfast gathering.
This adds to our other recognitions, including
an etown e-chievement award for Jon Mulford in 2003 and a
partnership award from the BLM in 1997.
