The Wilderness Land Trust Reaches 200 Properties Conserved!
We continue to achieve success in these
challenging times. Although the 2004 Federal Budget has been
excised of the word wilderness, the steadfast strong support
for wilderness remains unaffected. We are proud to have achieved
the milestone of successfully preserving 200 parcels of land,
beginning in 1992!
Inholdings Transferred in 2003
in Colorado...
The Out West

Colorado, serving the Snowmass/Maroon Bells Wilderness Area.
The Wyborg
Claims Four Mining Claims in the Eagles Nest
Wilderness Area east of Vail, Colorado, in an area where
backcountry estates are prized by the privileged.
in California...
The Goulard
Parcel

minerals, located within the Mt. Shasta Wilderness Area
The Lakeview
Ranch A homestead wholly within the Trinity Alps
Wilderness area that would most likely have been developed
as a wilderness residence.
The Wilderness Land Trust has transferred
200 privately owned inholdings into public ownership, protected
by wilderness designation. These properties will never be
mined, built upon nor have the trees removed from them. Roads
will not be built to them, vehicles will not travel to them.
Lights from them will not illuminate the wilderness that surrounds
them. Humans will continue to be only visitors to these now
protected lands.
