The Cady Mountains proposed wilderness area is an island of key wildlife habitat easily accessed from Los Angeles and the developing region of Barstow. The proposed area is home to the Cady Mountains herd of desert bighorn sheep, as well as prairie falcons, golden eagles, Mojave fringed-toed lizards, and many other species.
